Welcome to the Saint Marks Ave. Community Garden website. The garden is located on St. Marks Ave, between Vanderbilt & Carlton Aves. in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, NY. Open Hours are Saturday from 10-12 and 3-6 and Sunday from 2-7.
Something for Everyone at the garden
The St. Marks Ave. Community Garden is filled with treasures for the entire neighborhood of Prospect Heights to enjoy! The garden was buzzing with activity this past year. We had several children’s events, a music recital, several movie viewings, we were open for the Clinton Hill/ Prospect Heights Garden Tour, enjoyed an exceptionally lovely Halloween day and coordinated with five Brooklyn community gardens to receive lawn leaves for compost since the mayor canceled the city’s composting program. Of special interest were the fabulous praying mantis which set up house throughout the garden. We eagerly look forward to their re-emergence this year!Check the Events section or come visit the garden to learn about upcoming events. We are also interested in hearing from community members if they have events that might work with the garden.
